Literature has so many meanings but for me it all sums up to one: It is the process of making your life, thoughts and feelings immortal... a process in which you can no longer be harmed by time. a process in which you create your own vampire (see photo) which will haunt you forever. A lost soul that is hurt by neither time nor nature but can cause a devastation if used improperly. Literature is like a warrior's blood lust; if used properly, it can raze a villain's castle but it can also lead the hero to his own grave.
Literature is also something that is alive. it is reality itself. we can never really tell what is real and what is our imagination for only our imaginations make up reality.
As I start to read my idol, F. Sionil Jose's The Pretenders, I came about a line in the fictional claim: All the characters and events in this novel are real... only in the reader's imagination. This proves that Literature is more in the mind and heart than in the eyes
As for my program, I think Literature is a best way of developing Logical Thinking that is really needed within my course, Computer Engineering. As for my future job, I really intend of following my role models' footsteps -they are Jose Rizal, F. Sionil Jose and Ninoy Aquino- and someday be a writer/novelist.
